I am a librarian at Reeves Library and chair of CLAW (Committee for Library AWareness). If you've made it this far, well, I figure we've done our job. And, we hope you'll keep coming back.
We librarian-types differ in many ways, but we do share some things in common. We all are quite well-educated - a bachelors degree in a subject area and a masters in information/library science, at minimum; others have earned an additional masters degree or a Ph.D. We are also concerned (some might say "obsessed") with providing and protecting access to information. We tend to be on the cutting-edge of technology. And, we're also helpful to a fault.
It's no different at Reeves Library. And, I'll add one more thing to the list: we want you to be comfortable using library resources and be able to use them well.
As for me, I'm welcoming summer with open arms, mostly because I can now dive head-first into the Great Garden Experiment. I'm also busy trying to get some major inside projects completed in time for some visitors. I'm temporarily petless but am very much looking forward to finally getting some of our own this summer. And, I like to just get in the car and drive.
What I'm reading now:
Can't wait to get to heaven by Fannie Flagg
Other books I've read lately:
World without End by Ken Follett
Main Street & Babbitt by Sinclair Lewis
Freakonomics: A rogue economist explores the hidden side of everything by Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner
Generation debt: Why now is a terrible time to be young by Anya Kamenetz
Home to Holly Springs by Jan Karon
36 views of Mount Fuji: On finding myself in Japan by Cathy N. Davidson
